Design of New Test System for Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell

A comprehensive test system for proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) is designed and developed monitoring controlling the inlet outlet parameters safety issues of cells. The data acquisition output instruction rely on connection between PLC (programmable logic controller) OPC (object linking embedding process control). Based Siemens S7-200 series PID (proportion integration differentiation) technology, margin error in relative humidity air controlled at less than 0.7%. Furthermore, a hydrogen recycling an alarm module are introduced, considering or nitrogen solenoid valve power failure, cooling fan temperature anomaly, leakage. This evaluated by experimental investigation PEMFC performance. results show that has very good control performances. At cell 40 °C, enhanced performance polarization tests depicted high humidification 60 °C.
